SAN ANTONIO – Zapatos has helped put shoes on children’s feet since 2016.
They stay true to their motto, “NO shoes, NO service”, because they know that for a child or teenager who has a good pair of shoes, it makes a difference in their life.
Zapatos works with school counselors and liaison officers to respond to shoe requests for students who need basic tennis shoes and for children who need accessible shoes due to a disability.
A well-fitting shoe opens doors to other opportunities like graduation, ROTC, after-school programs, sports, and even prom.
Donations for Share the Shoes will be accepted November 1 through December 16 and can be dropped off at any SAPD substation.
This year, in addition to shoes, new socks will also be accepted during collection.
