Palo Alto police responded to a shoplifting at Burberry’s in the Stanford Mall on Saturday night, a department spokesperson said.

Officers received a report of a shoplifting in progress at the store at approximately 6:58 p.m. Five unarmed shoplifters, described as men in their twenties wearing gray hoodies and black masks, entered the store and took several handbags, police said.

The men threatened to injure store workers and pushed a security guard, police said, but no injuries were reported.

The value of the merchandise lost by the store in the incident was not immediately clear.
